Vanessa Olmo is the Owner and Operator of Business Endeavors, a meeting planning company that works with non-profit, scientific and corporate groups focusing on international meetings, workshops and symposia.
Business Endeavors counts the Texas Biomedical Research Institute (formerly Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research), Department of Genetics as its primary client.
As a consultant to Texas Biomed, responsibilities included the planning and execution of the bi-annual meetings for the Genetic Analysis Workshops (GAW), a federally funded grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences and the National Institutes of Health.
Other meetings planned and implemented include the International Genetic Epidemiology Society Annual Meeting (Fall 2000), the Non-Human Primates Model for AIDS Research (Fall 2004), and the American Society of Primatologists Annual Meeting (Fall 2005). Management of larger events (in conjunction with imaginigami events) include the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (2011) and the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing (2012, ongoing).
Vanessa is a Certified Diversity Meeting Professional, a certification earned through the International Asscociation of Hispanic Meeting Professionals (IAHMP). In addition to Business Endeavors, she also works as a freelance planner with imaginigami events.
